THE ISRAEL OF GOD
Galatians 6: 15 For
in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision,
but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this
rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
When the fallout between light and darkness happened in
Heaven, God revealed His plan of redemption to all creation in Genesis 3:15
when He said that the seed of a woman will crush the head of the serpent. Now,
out of His unsearchable wisdom, He chose the Jewish people to be the
actualizers of His plan. Through them, He brought the God Son to be the
propitiation for the sins of the world in accordance with the high Righteous
requirement of God.
Now, the Jewish people who are the nation of Israel are a
very special lot in the eyes of Jehovah the Lord of Hosts. Chiefly because they
were the ones who were given the oracles of God and we all have to learn from
them. Secondly, since God consecrates/ sets-apart a person or a nation through
His law and His commandments, He had commanded them to use physical
circumcision of their males as a sign of obedience to His law. This was
relevant up until He brought the Messiah of the whole world through them, then He ceased the circumcision requirement when He opened up salvation for whosoever believed in the son of God.
Though the Nation of Israel still remains dear to God, their
salvation is still the same as the salvation of the Gentiles: that is,
through belief in Jesus Christ and, thereafter, keeping the commandments in the new
covenant. Romans 3:9 “What then? Are we better
than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proven both Jews and Gentiles,
that they are all under sin;” We read in Romans 11 that they are the
real branches of the vine (Christ), but God plucked them out so that He could
graft the Gentiles into the vine. He will out of His everlasting love and
promise that He made to His beloved Abraham open their eyes to the way of
salvation in the latter days, then regraft them back to the vine. In the end,
they shall be saved through Jesus Christ the Messiah, just like any Gentile who
shall believe the good news of salvation through Jesus, the Christ of God.
This brings us to the understanding that the Israel of God
mentioned in Galatians 6:16 is not the physical nation of Israel, nor is it its people, but a new spiritual Nation that consists of all who have believed
and received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, Jew or Gentile, for there
is no respect of persons with God! Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is
our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the
dividing wall,
Diving deeper into spirituality, we see that both the words
Israel and Jew are representations of something more profound and deep, whose
meaning can be arrived at by anyone who studies the Hebrew Alphabet, which contains the Eternal language. Learn how to derive deep spiritual mysteries from the Hebrew Alphabet here. Therefore, though God used the small nation of Israel
to bring salvation to the world, His intention was to call every human being
and creature back to Him through His Holy Child Jesus, thus making an ultimate single nation of
people who believe in Him and keep His commandments. This New Nation is the Israel of God.
Which
Nation is the Israel of God?
The Israel of God is not a physical nation in a geographical
location. John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this
world…, My kingdom is not of this realm.” It is a spiritual nation
that we currently understand and refer to as the Church of Jesus Christ or the
House of Faith, meaning all who are saved by the grace of God, through Faith;
who live by the law of God. Some citizens of this great Nation are sleeping in
the ground, but will arise and meet Christ at his second coming when the
trumpet sounds.
Though Jesus in His days on the earth was under the law, we
see him apply the eternal reality of the Israel of God to the Canaanite woman
who had a sick daughter in Matthew 15. Jesus gave her the right to enjoy the
‘Children’s food’ when she demonstrated her faith in Him, the same way that God
allows whosoever that believes in His salvation plan, all access into His
eternal Nation of the Israel of God. The Church consists of all who have taken
up Jesus as their messiah for the forgiveness of their sins and who delight to
do the will of God. The Israel of God only has the born-Again, the new creation
and the one new man, who is created in righteousness and true holiness. It is
made up of the True Jews.
Who is a
true Jew?
Romans 2:25 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly;
and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the
letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
The True jew is any Born-Again believer in Jesus Christ. The
one living a consecrated life through keeping the commandments of God, not for
show or the praise of men, but to glorify God, his saviour, while sojourning on
the earth. This description roots out all who confess Christ but do not live
according to the law of God. The kind that Jesus talks about in Revelation
3:9 Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that
they are Jews and are not, but lie…
Of which Jesus also warned in the book of Matthew 7:23
- Jesus
states, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity".
This passage refers to a future judgment when those who have
claimed to be followers of Jesus, perhaps performing great deeds in His name,
will be rejected because they never had an intimate relationship with
Him.
Their "lawlessness/Iniquity" refers to a life of
unrighteousness and a fundamental lack of true faith in Christ.
The true Jew is not defined by rituals, color, tongue, or
Geographical location. Rather, by their true belief in God through Jesus. Colossians
3:11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew,
circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but
Christ is all, and in all.
Are you a true Jew? Do you belong to the nation of the
Israel of God? Examine your heart and repent, then turn away from any wicked
way. Ask the Holy Spirit of God, who is given freely to the true Jew, to come and
dwell in you so that he may teach and guide you in the ways of God. Therefore, believer, never live in any doubt from today on, for you know your true
citizenship-The Israel of God and your true identity- A Jew!
A Prayer for the Israel of God
Psalm 122 6 Pray for the peace of
Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and
prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions' sakes,
I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9 Because of the house of
the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
Let all the Jews, living in the Israel of God say: AMEN
This revelation is not meant to diminish the turmoil being
experienced in Israel right now. It is a pointer to the truth of God that
matters for all eternity. However, we should pray for the peace of the physical
Israel and for the peace of the whole earth, as we are taught that:
Romans 3:29
Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of
Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
He is the God of the whole earth who wishes that all men may
turn their hearts back to Him, believe in Him, and delight to do His
commandments. Only then will many be able to enter the Israel of God, where
there is no competition, strife, or war, and the Glory of God will fill the
whole earth for His Name’s sake. Amen
